IU plans youth football clinic for Saturday

Indiana, in association with USA Football and the Heads Up Football initiative, will put on a youth football clinic to commemorate its Youth Football Day on Saturday at Memorial Stadium.

The Hoosiers will welcome children elementary school age or younger and give them the opportunity to participate in the team's walk to Memorial Stadium at 5:30 p.m., participate in a clinic on fundamentals before the game and lead IU onto the field for its 8 p.m. kickoff against Missouri.

"This is a great opportunity for youth teams to enjoy a day of Hoosier Football," IU coach Kevin Wilson said in a statement. "We are really trying to build our game by teaching and working with USA Football and its Heads Up Football campaign on proper fundamentals. It's an awesome chance to enhance our game and make Hoosier Football stronger in Central Indiana." The clinic will be no pads and non-contact, and players who don't dress for IU will help out as instructors.
