Warsaw, Carroll still unbeaten, not untied

Two ranked and unbeaten boys soccer teams resolved nothing Saturday.

No. 7 Warsaw and No. 16 Carroll played to a 1-1 tie, with Tito Cuellar scoring in the seventh minute for the Tigers and Jacob Till in the 69th minute for Carroll.

Peyton Long made eight saves for Warsaw (6-0-5) and Michael Didion five for Carroll (10-0-3), which outshot Warsaw 9-6.

Boys soccer

HOMESTEAD 2, NOBLESVILLE 2: Nick Anderson scored two second-half goals to salvage a tie with Noblesville at Homestead.

Girls soccer

SNIDER 1, BISHOP LUERS 0: Mikayla Unger’s second-half goal lifted the Panthers past Luers at Snider. Apryl Smith turned away 13 Luers shots to preserve the win.

CANTERBURY 2, LEO 1: Abby Bergeron and Rachel West scored goals for the Cavaliers at Canterbury.

BLACKHAWK CHRISTIAN 6, WESTVILLE 1: Rebecca Kanpol scored a hat trick and Emily Day got two goals for Blackhawk.

HUNTINGTON NORTH 4, ANDERSON 1: Corinne Tester and Bailey Martin scored two goals apiece for the Vikings at Huntington North.


CONCORD TOURNAMENT: Woodlan beat Plymouth (25-21, 25-20) and NorthWood (25-18, 25-18) and lost to New Prairie (25-20, 25-21) at Concord. Tori Bontrager had 34 kills on the day to lead the Warriors.

TRITON TOURNAMENT: Wawasee beat Culver (25-16, 25-16) and John Glenn (25-22, 25-15) and lost to Bremen (25-17, 24-26, 12-15) at Triton. Lydia Katsaropolous had 20 kills, 30 digs and seven aces on the day, while Hunter Gaerte had 15 kills and three aces.

Girls golf

NECC TOURNAMENT: Fairfield edged Angola 382-387 for the conference title. Regina Raber shot 81 for medalist honors for Fairfield while Alivia Behnfeldt of Fremont shot an 86 for runner-up honors and Morgan Dornte shot 92 to finish third.

NLC TOURNAMENT: Warsaw shot 386 to win the Northern Lakes Conference title by three strokes over NorthWood. Heidi Morganthaler of NorthWood took medalist honors with a 79 while Nikki LaLonde (88) and Elizabeth Meadows (89) finished second and third for Warsaw.
