Scouting report: Manchester opened the season on a familiar note – a 19-3 loss to Trine – but will look not to repeat any further history Saturday against Kalamazoo. In an excruciating four-overtime marathon, the Spartans lost to the Hornets 18-16, the second of four straight losses to open the 2012 season. This time, they’ll be taking on a Kalamazoo team that opened with a 28-23 win over Rose-Hulman behind quarterback Justin Danzy, who passed for 279 yards and ran for 50. Manchester quarterback Nick Williams was 13-of-24 passing for 146 yards in the loss to Trine. Williams also led Manchester in rushing with 28 yards.
