IPFW making progress in AD search

IPFW is getting closer to naming a new athletic director.

The school’s interim vice chancellor for financial affairs, Stan Davis, said in an email Friday that the hiring is going through the process.

“The paperwork is currently clearing our HR (human resources) review and I suspect will be posted in the next week or so,” Davis said. “A few more i's to dot and t's to cross. We would like have the position filled by year end.”

Davis didn’t mention any specific candidates for the position.

Former athletic director Tommy Bell left in August to be the AD at Western Illinois.

IPFW women's volleyball coach Kelley Hartley Hutton has been the interim athletic director since Aug. 1. At the time, Hartley Hutton indicated she would be a candidate for the permanent AD position.

A search committee was formed to select a new athletic director.

Hutton has been the women's volleyball coach for the last 14 seasons and was the senior woman administrator and associate athletic director for 12 years at IPFW.
