News and notes

  • Indiana scored 108 points in its first two games, the most in consecutive outings in IU history. The Hoosiers hope for that same kind of production against Bowling Green, which tends to stack the box and stop the run on defense. That should open up the pass game some for sophomore quarterback Nate Sudfeld and redshirt sophomore Tre Roberson, who will likely both play today against the Falcons. Sudfeld has had four touchdowns in each of his games this season, while Roberson has seen less time but is a dual-threat option.
  • The IU run game will need to be much better in this game after Sudfeld led the Hoosiers in yards last week with 35. Tevin Coleman and Stephen Houston will be leaned on much more despite the Falcons' prioritizing the run. IU coach Kevin Wilson wants the Hoosiers to be much more balanced that week, so look for the team to try and establish that immediately today.
