Same-day adoptions of pets for ACSPCA

This weekend, you could be able to take home a four-legged friend the same day you meet the lucky fur ball.

Beginning Friday, the Allen County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals will be offering same-day adoptions for pre-approved applicants at local PetSmart locations.

The program is part of the PetSmart Charities National Adoption Weekend.

Applicants have already been approved and can come to the three local PetSmart stores, meet with dogs and cats and take one home, according to the SPCA.

Others who haven’t been approved can also meet with the animals and, through a streamlined process, take one home the following day, according to the SPCA.

The ACSPCA will be at the PetSmart stores – on Lima Road, Maysville Road and in Apple Glen – from noon to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday and noon to 2 p.m. Sunday.

For more information, go to the local SPCA’s website at www.acspca.org or call 744-0454.
