Fey, Cyrus, Willis are 1st hosts of ‘SNL’ season

Miley Cyrus may have something to talk about when she appears on “Saturday Night Live” next month.

NBC said Monday that the singer and actress, who did some attention-getting twerking and found new uses for foam fingers during a duet with Robin Thicke on the MTV Video Music Awards last month, will be both host and musical guest of the NBC late-night program Oct. 5.

It will be the second new “Saturday Night Live” of the season. A week earlier, old favorite Tina Fey will be back as host. Arcade Fire will be the musical guest.

On Oct. 12, “Saturday Night Live” will feature the team of Bruce Willis as host and Katy Perry as musician.

Strait will take a who’s who of country music on the road, including Merle Haggard, Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean, Eric Church, Sheryl Crow and Ronnie Dunn.

The 61-year-old kicks off Jan. 9 and plans stops in Nashville, Los Angeles and Chicago.

“The Voice” returns to NBC on Sept. 23.

The TV academy announced Monday that the 66-year-old musician will make his Emmy debut with a tribute to Liberace, whose life story is told in HBO’s “Behind the Candelabra.”

The movie earned 15 Emmy nominations, including lead-actor bids for Michael Douglas and Matt Damon, who play Liberace and his lover Scott Thorson. Douglas and Damon are also set to serve as presenters at the Sept. 22 ceremony.

John’s first studio album in seven years, “The Diving Board,” is set for release Sept. 24.
