Giving back

DeKalb Health has awarded $30,000 to the DeKalb County Economic Development Partnership through 2016.

•The Hearing Impaired Kids Endowment Fund, the philanthropic project of Job’s Daughters, awarded money to Kellen Nesser of Fort Wayne.

Kosciusko REMC members donated more than $72,000 to 39 community groups.

Awards/recognition

Eryn Schinbeckler of Columbia City won Grand Champion Market Lamb and Reserve Grand Champion Market Lamb at the Indiana State Fair. Kyra Schinbeckler of Columbia City won fifth Overall Market Lamb, Champion Shropshire Market Lamb and Reserve Champion Suffolk Market Lamb at the fair.

Barbara’s New Beginnings in Fort Wayne won the Personal Touch award for the 2013 Best of Intima magazine awards, which honors independent retailers in lingerie, swimwear and loungewear.
