Saints, Knights win, get matchup

Bishop Dwenger and Bishop Luers each remained undefeated Thursday in the SAC to set up a pivotal boys tennis conference match next week.

The Saints (5-1, 3-0 SAC) and Knights (7-0, 2-0) will meet at Zollner on Tuesday.

On Thursday, Dwenger beat North Side 5-0 and Luers blanked Wayne 3-0 in a shortened match because the Generals didn’t have a full lineup.


BELLMONT 174, DEKALB 217: The Braves improved to 5-1 in the NHC at Cross Creek. Bellmont’s Rachel Klingensmith was medalist with a personal-best 38.

CANTERBURY 185, WHITKO 220: Jessica Harrison’s 44 led the Cavaliers at Chestnut Hills. Sarah Stroup added a 46.

Boys soccer

DEKALB 4, HUNTINGTON NORTH 2: The Barons scored three first-half goals to get the home win. Brennan Cochran scored twice and had an assist.

LAKEWOOD PARK 5, WEST NOBLE 3: The visiting Panthers scored all five goals in the second half.

Girls soccer

HUNTINGTON NORTH 2, CONCORDIA 1: Corrine Tester scored the game-winner in the second half for the host Vikings. Aly Grabner also scored for Huntington North. Meredith Hardin scored for the Cadets.

NEW HAVEN 2, NORTH SIDE 0: Amber Collins and Hayley Shuler each scored a goal in the second half to lead the Bulldogs at home.

CARROLL 4, SNIDER 0: Amber Hoot had two goals and two assists to lead the visiting Chargers. Julia Jackson added a goal and an assist for Carroll.

LEO 3, BLACKHAWK CHRISTIAN 1: The Lions broke a 1-goal tie with two second-half goals. Scoring for Leo were Megan Jones, Elizabeth Stoller and Hannah Tkacz.


WARSAW 3, PLYMOUTH 2: Warsaw won all three singles matches, including Will Petro’s 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 2.

BLACKHAWK CHRISTIAN 3, BLUFFTON 2: The host Braves got wins from Ben Bailey and Chase Ramsey at No. 2 and No. 3 singles and Jared Fielder and Ryan Overbeck at No. 2 doubles.


ADAMS CENTRAL 3, LUERS 2: The host Jets overcame a 2-0 deficit to win 20-25, 22-25, 25-21, 25-13, 15-11. Whitney Peterson had 18 kills, while Haley Gross added 16.

DWENGER 3, HOMESTEAD 2: Olivia Current had 14 kills to lead the visiting Saints to the win, 25-22, 24-26, 23-25, 25-22, 15-8. The Spartans’ were led by Jordan Lentz’s 16 kills.
