Report: Irish land 1st 2014 basketball recruit

Notre Dame landed its first basketball commitment for its 2014 recruiting class on Friday.

Martin Geben, a 6-foot-9, 220-pound forward from St. Maria Goretti in Hagerstown, Md., committed to the Irish, according to a report by Irish Illustrated.

Geben is rated a four-star recruit by Rivals.com and is No. 98 in the most recent Rivals150.

Geben averaged 7.5 points and 6.6 rebounds in 13 games with Team Takeover on the AAU circuit and helped Lithuania win a bronze medal the U-19 World Championships, according to Irish Illustrated.

Geben's parents live in Lithuania.
