Bullpen

Fort Wayne closer: Roman Madrid 6-4, 2.72 ERA, 22 saves

Bowling Green closer: Marcus Jensen 6-4, 2.99 ERA, 6 saves

Skinny: Bowling Green closed out the season with a second-half championship and pushed itself to the 82-56 overall, which led the Midwest League Eastern Division. Fort Wayne, meanwhile, went 29-41 in the last half of the year and finished 72-67 overall. … The TinCaps went 1-5 against the Hot Rods in August.

Prediction: Fort Wayne has the pitching to compete with any team in the MWL, but the TinCaps have been plagued by inconsistency in the second half. While they’ve competed well against the Hot Rods in the past, it’s tough to bet Fort Wayne can string together a pair of wins against them now. Bowling Green wins the series 2-0.
