Affolder, Brett

Brett Affolder has been named the 2013 Maurie Fettig Achievement Scholarship recipient. He is the son of Jim Affolder, Red Gold’s second shift mechanic at its Geneva site.

The $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a child of a Red Gold employee who is an incoming freshman studying sales or marketing. The recipient of the Fettig Achievement Scholarship is selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership, participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, and statement of goals and aspirations. The recipient of this award is chosen by the Amcor scholarship committee, Red Gold’s ketchup bottle producer, whom is the benefactor of this scholarship program.

Brett Affolder plans to study at Ball State University, majoring in music composition with a minor in marketing, according to the Red Gold announcement. He has been involved in the South Adams High School cross country team and is a seven-year member of the concert band.
