Summit League honors two

Two IPFW volleyball players have been honored by the Summit League.

Emily Spencer was named Player of the Week for her double-digit kills in three matches, including 53 kills in the IPFW Hyatt Place Invitational, for which she was named MVP. She breached the 1,000-kill mark for her career against Southern Illinois.

Senior libero Jen Milligan, meanwhile, earned Defensive Player of the Week honors. She was also named to the Hyatt Place all-tournament team after three straight double-figure dig matches, including a career-high 24 in the title match against Connecticut.

The IPFW women's swept their weekend matches at the IPFW Hyatt Place Invitational.

The Mastodons' 3-0 record is the best start for the program since the 2005 team opened the season with eight consecutive victories.
