Violence won’t stop until we want it to

Every day, a news flash: mass shootings, mass killings, senseless killings, stray bullets, drive-by, and then we start pointing fingers. It’s the mentally ill, the black community, teen violence, mentally, physically and sexually abused. Stop it.

Look in the mirror. We did it.

Every aspect of our lives is about violence. I saw a movie, “Up Close and Personal,” that had the line, “If it breeds, it leads!” We not only endorse it, we want more and more. Look at our movies, our video games, TV shows, books. With every form of violence we use both hands: one hand says stop while the other hand says give me more.

It won’t stop. And only because we want violence. It’s you in the mirror. Do you really want to stop it or not?
