The dog days of summer

After a busy year of debating tax hikes, tax breaks and everything in between, the Fort Wayne City Council has hit the summer doldrums, and the body has canceled its Tuesday meeting for lack of business.

There are only four bills up for consideration, and three of those are zoning petitions, which the council traditionally considers on nights when it has both a committee and a regular session. That would have left Tuesday’s committee session with just one bill to consider.

The council will resume its normal schedule Sept. 10.
