INDIANAPOLIS – A former chairman and chief executive of Cummins Inc. has won the first biennial Mitch Daniels Leadership Prize.
A committee of eight men and women announced Monday that Tim Solso will be given the $50,000 prize named after former Gov. Mitch Daniels at an October dinner.
Former Supreme Court Chief Justice Randall Shepard chaired the panel of eight leading Hoosiers. He said the group picked Solso for his top-notch corporate and civic leadership while heading Cummins from 2000 to 2011.
Solso is expected to give the $50,000 prize to an individual or organization who best embodies Daniels values.
