2 suspects charged in southeast gunfire

Two men accused of being involved in a shooting on the southeast side last week have been charged with felonies.

Allen County prosecutors formally charged Brandon D. Carter, 24, with unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon; also charged is Marcos O. Timmons, 22, with resisting law enforcement and possession of a controlled substance.

Fort Wayne police officers were called to 1400 block of Colerick Street about 11 p.m. last Tuesday where they found a man who had been shot in the arm.

Witnesses reported the shots came from a gray truck, which an undercover officer spotted quickly and began pursuing, according to Allen Superior Court documents.

After a chase, the men, whom police identified as Carter and Timmons, exited the truck but later arrested.

Timmons, of the 4700 block of Northcrest Drive, had pills prescribed to someone else on him, admitted to driving the truck and also told police that Carter had been the one that did the shooting, according to court documents.

Carter, of the 6900 block of Blairwood Drive, has previously been convicted of a felony count of robbery, according to court documents.
