Fat Joe reports to prison

Fat Joe

Rap star Fat Joe has reported to federal prison in Florida to serve a four-month sentence for tax evasion.

An attorney for the performer, whose real name is Joseph Cartagena, said his client surrendered Monday at a federal detention center in Miami.

Cartagena pleaded guilty in December 2012 to failing to pay taxes on more than $1 million of income in 2007 and in 2008.

Deen case dismissed

A federal judge signed off Monday on a deal to dismiss a discrimination lawsuit against celebrity cook Paula Deen.

A civil lawsuit accusing the former Food Network star and her brother of race discrimination and sexual harassment was officially dismissed when U.S. District Court Judge William T. Moore Jr. in Savannah approved a deal reached by attorneys in the case last week.

It’s a girl for Baldwin

Actor Alec Baldwin’s wife has given birth to a baby girl in New York.

Hilaria Baldwin tweeted the news from her Twitter account Friday night. She says that the family is overjoyed and that Carmen Gabriela “is absolutely perfect.”

Baldwin is the father of a 17-year-old daughter, Ireland, from his previous marriage to Kim Basinger.
