Breaks, fluids key in next days, weather service says

Afternoon high temperatures are expected to be around 90 degrees Tuesday and possibly Wednesday, the National Weather Service in northern Indiana said tonight.

Increasing humidity could make peak afternoon heat indices in the mid- to upper 90s, so people doing outdoor activities this week are encouraged to take frequent breaks and drink fluids, the weather service said in a statement.

A weak cool front late Tuesday and into Wednesday might limit heating in portions of northeast Indiana and southern lower Michigan, the statement said.
