Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Indiana recently recognized its volunteers of the year: Alyssa Ivanson, National Big Sister of the Year; Sherri Milton, Big Sister of the Year; Trevor Loxton, Big Brother of the Year; Scott and Michelle Rodenbeck, Big Couple of the Year; Jason Fritcha, School Buddy of the Year; Chase Moyle, First Mentor of the Year; and Buford Baker, recognized for being a Big Brother for 40 years.

Giving back

•The Rotary Club of Fort Wayne and Vincent Village Inc. installed a Little Free Library at 2827 Holton Ave.

Easter Seals Arc of Northeast Indiana received a Big Read grant from Arts Midwest and the National Endowment of the Arts. “The Call of the Wild” is the selected title for the project, which kicks off with a free public screening of the 1972 film of the same name at Cinema Center, 437 E. Berry St., from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 6.

Reunions

South Side High School Classes of 1947 and 1948 will have a reunion from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sept. 7 at Goeglein’s Homestead, 7311 Maysville Road. Cost is $25 a person. The deadline for reservations is Wednesday and can be made by mailing a check with your class name and guests to Dick Schweizer, 12822 Chaplin Court, Fort Wayne, IN, 46845 or email barwsch@aol.com.
