Service set for Snider teacher, coach

The life of a Snider High School teacher who died preparing his classroom for the new school year will be celebrated at a service Saturday.

Calling hours for Bruce Crist are from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 E. Dupont Road, according to his obituary. The service is at 10 a.m. Saturday at Cedar Creek Church of Christ, 12606 Indiana 1, with calling one hour prior.

The 52-year-old died of natural causes, according to the Allen County Coroner’s Office.

Crist, an English teacher and tennis coach, had been diagnosed with heart problems about 10 years ago, and since then he had been taking aspirin to help his condition, police said.

Memorials may be made to his children’s education, in care of his widow, Angela Crist, the obituary said.
