    After three years and two other possible locations, Scott Wise has inked a deal to bring Scotty’s Brewhouse to Fort Wayne. The restaurant will move into 6282 W. Jefferson Blvd.

Area chefs part of celebration of Hoosier food

Are you ready to Dig IN?

The organizers of the fourth annual food event are asking you to do just that.

Dig IN, a Taste of Indiana, features dozens of Indiana chefs, brewers, vintners and food artisans who will gather at White Water State Park to celebrate all the state’s agriculture has to offer. Included in the lineup are chef Aaron Butts of Joseph Decuis in Roanoke and representing Cerulean will be owner Caleb France and executive chef Chase Hinton. Cerulean has locations in Winona Lake and Indianapolis.

Sunday’s event, from noon to 5 p.m., takes place in Indianapolis, but is worth the drive, according to some of my favorite Indiana foodies.

Featuring regional wines

The Joseph Decuis Vineyard Lunch Series is heading to “the local farm” Saturday.

Four courses from the chefs at the Roanoke restaurant, 191 N. Main St., will be paired with Midwestern wines and served from noon to 3 p.m.

The lunch costs $35 or $50 paired with two glasses of wine. Reservations are required for this event. Call 260-672-1715.

Fundraiser

Olympia Pools and Spas, 801 Coliseum Blvd. W., is hosting its first ever EGGFest on Sept. 14. Grillers will have a chance to show off talents using a Big Green Egg Smoker and compete to win people’s choice awards. There will also be a raffle with proceeds benefiting Community Harvest Food Bank and a food drive during the event to help raise public awareness.

The event is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and tickets are $10 for adults. Children 12 and younger get in free. For more information or tickets, go to FortWayneEggFest.com.
