Anthrop sidelined for 6-8 weeks, Hazell says

Purdue sophomore wide receiver Danny Anthrop will be out for six to eight weeks with a left medial collateral ligament tear, Boilermakers coach Darrell Hazell announced Sunday.

Anthrop missed all of spring practice after an injury in the final game of the 2013 season. This most recent setback will hurt Purdue's depth at the position.

Anthrop was expected to see a lot of playing time at the wideout spot.

"I feel horrible for him," Hazell told reporters after Anthrop was carted off the field during a team scrimmage Saturday. "The kid has worked so hard to put himself in position to be one of our guys. Your heart sinks when one of your guys goes down like that."
