TinCaps beat Loons

Alberth Martinez hit a three-run home run and Zach Eflin pitched six effective innings Sunday as the TinCaps beat the Great Lakes Loons 4-3 at Dow Diamond in Midland, Mich.

Martinez broke a 1-all tie with his home run in the fifth inning.

The Loons scored twice in the sixth to cut the lead to 4-3.

Ruben Mejia and Trevor Gott combined for three innings of scoreless relief to preserve the win, with Gott picking up the save.

The TinCaps and Loons continue their series at 7:05 p.m. Monday.
