Giving back

Mike’s Carwash will have “Mike’s Mentors Kids” today to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters. Proceeds from the Works carwash sold at all six Fort Wayne carwash locations from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. will be donated to the organization.


The following Allen County 4-H volunteers were recognized for their years of service during the Indiana State Fair: Virginia McIntosh, Hoagland, 35 years; Beth Dawson, Monroeville, 30 years; and Jerry Hammon, Harlan, 30 years. Other volunteers recognized who were unable to attend the fair are 40 years, Donald Wies, Avilla and Reggie Shull, Woodburn; 30 years, Douglas Chapman, Spencerville; 25 years, Roxanna Greer and Jane Wells, both of Fort Wayne, and Mike Shirey, New Haven; and 20 years, Larry Fuhrmann, Decatur, Dale Linnemeier, Churubusco, Mark Riley, Monroeville and Rita Simmons, Auburn.
