3 from city indicted in June bank heist

A federal grand jury in Indianapolis indicted three Fort Wayne residents in connection with the June robbery of a Fishers bank.

The three were part of a group of five arrested by the FBI moments after the robbery of a Community Bank branch June 26.

The five – Deandre Armour, 37, Xavier Hardy, 26, Duryea Rogers, 26, Tahitia Burnett, 40, and Olivia Haiflich, 20 – are all from Fort Wayne.

The indictment accuses Armour, Rogers and Hardy with conspiracy to commit armed robbery, armed bank robbery, and using a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence.

Burnett and Haiflich remain charged under a federal criminal complaint with bank robbery, but in Haiflich’s case, the federal government asked for additional time to file an indictment, according to court documents.

The Fishers robbery bore a strong resemblance to a number of robberies in the Fort Wayne area last year – men armed with handguns, with their faces concealed and their hands covered by blue gloves approach the bank or credit union as employees arrive to open it and force their way inside where they demand cash.
