HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – An inmate escape from a central Arkansas jail was caught on video, and in person.
Officials say 33-year-old Derrick Estell went through a window early Sunday in a planned escape attempt in which he allegedly had help.
The department said a man entered the booking area to distract two deputies and Estell slithered through a window and ran from the jail. He fled in a car that was waiting in a nearby alley.
Estell is a state prisoner who was in Garland County for a court appearance. He was serving sentences from Garland, Grant and Pulaski counties.
