Registration begins for FWCS students

Registration for the Fort Wayne Community Schools 2013-14 school year will be Friday and Monday at all 49 elementary, middle and high schools.

Parents can visit their child's school from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday or from noon to 7 p.m. Monday to register for the school year, which begins Aug. 19. Students must register at the school they will attend, even if they attended that school last year, according to a FWCS statement.

Parents should bring all necessary contact information, and those new to the district should bring vaccination records, birth certificates and Social Security cards for their children, as well as two forms of proof of residency.

Those not able to register during the set registration times should contact the school their child will attend to make other arrangements.

Registration is important for schools to plan for the new school year and ensure appropriate staffing levels are in place.

Many of the forms parents will need to fill out are available on the registration link at www.fortwayneschools.org. School supply lists are also available online.
