A star of The Real Housewives of New Jersey and her husband were released on $500,000 bond apiece after making initial court appearances Tuesday on federal fraud charges.
Teresa Giudice and her husband, Giuseppe Joe Giudice, were ordered to surrender their passports and to restrict their travels to New Jersey and New York. Joe Giudice, an Italian citizen, could be deported if convicted.
The Giudices were indicted Monday on bank and bankruptcy fraud charges, among other counts. Joe Giudice is also charged with failing to file tax returns from 2004 to 2008.
Actor Wes Studi is apologizing for his conduct toward police during his recent arrest for aggravated drunken driving in New Mexico.
A Santa Fe police officer’s report says Studi was loud and vulgar toward officers. But Studi’s statement of apology says officers remained very professional despite his behavior.
Studi has pleaded not guilty. He was arrested early Friday after he was found with a car with two damaged tires in the middle of a street.
The hit Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark is losing its longtime superhero but producers are holding open casting calls for anyone who wants to don the red and blue suit.
Reeve Carney, who has been playing the musical’s title character and his alter ego Peter Parker since the show began previews in late 2010, will leave Sept. 15, and two casting calls will take place next month to find his replacement, as well as a future actress to play Mary Jane.
The casting calls will be in New York on Aug. 19 and in Los Angeles on Aug. 12.
