Skate pro posts bond in sex case

A professional inline skater accused of having sex with a 14-year-old girl in a Fort Wayne hotel room posted a $40,000 bond Friday to be released from jail.

William Bowen, 27, of Greensboro, N.C., faces two felony counts of sexual misconduct with a minor. He was booked into the Allen County Jail on July 20 after being extradited from North Carolina.

In July 2011, Bowen came to Fort Wayne to race in the Speed Skating National Championships at the Memorial Coliseum, according to court papers.

Sometime during the weeklong competition, the girl went to the Holiday Inn near the arena, and Bowen invited her into his room.

He undressed her and had sex with her, court papers stated.
