After eight years on the air at Saturday Night Live, Jason Sudeikis says he’s calling it quits.
Sudeikis used another late-night institution to make his announcement, telling David Letterman in the taping of Wednesday’s show that he’s leaving NBC’s weekend program.
It’s an exodus of male cast members at SNL. Both Fred Armisen and Bill Hader previously announced they were leaving the show. Seth Meyers will be replacing Jimmy Fallon on his late-night talk show when Fallon moves up to the Tonight show.
The fun uncle
Prince Harry has laid out his mission as an uncle: protect the newest member of his family, and make sure Britain’s little prince has fun.
Harry told reporters at a charity event in London on Thursday that when he met Prince George, the new baby was crying his eyes out, as all babies do.
He says he wants to make sure the future heir to the throne has a good upbringing, and keep him out of harm’s way and to make sure he has fun.
A spokeswoman for The Nance says star Nathan Lane was to return to the Broadway play Thursday after injuring his leg during Wednesday’s performance.
Lane was unable to finish Wednesday night after the Tony Award-winner’s leg was injured by the play’s revolving set.
Standing by Deen
The North Carolina-based home furnishings company that markets Paula Deen’s furniture line is sticking with the embattled celebrity chef.
The High Point Enterprise reports that Universal Furniture International will continue to market the Paula Deen Home Collection.
Deen has been under fire since the revelation earlier this year of a legal deposition in which Deen admitted under oath to having used the N-word. Many companies have dropped Deen since the deposition became public.
Jeff Scheffer with Universal Furniture says he feels bad for Deen.
Jimmy Fallon has shared the name of his family’s new addition: Winnie Rose.
Fallon joked in his Late Night monologue Wednesday that he hasn’t had a chance to respond to everyone’s messages, but let me just say – Yes, William and Kate, we’ll definitely set up a play date.
Fallon and his film-producer wife, Nancy Juvonen Fallon, welcomed their daughter Tuesday morning.
