Notre Dame will make a return trip to play Temple in Philadelphia; it will just be a year later than originally planned.
The Irish, who open this season at home against the Owls on Aug. 31, will play Temple at Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field in 2015, according to multiple reports. Notre Dame was scheduled to play Temple on Oct. 11, 2014.
OwlsDaily was the first to report the schedule change.
The Irish needed help with their schedule for 2014 because that is when their deal with the Atlantic Coast Conference kicks in with Notre Dame playing five opponents every season. The agreement was made when Notre Dame joined the ACC in all sports except football and hockey.
Notre Dame had already tried to relieve its scheduling problem by attempting to change its game at Arizona State in 2014, but the Sun Devils fought to keep their home date against the Irish that season.
Notre Dame still has one extra game remaining on its 2014 schedule with traditional rivals USC, Stanford, Navy, Purdue and Michigan, games against Syracuse, Louisville, North Carolina, Wake Forest and Florida State of the ACC and Rice, Northwestern and Arizona State penciled in for that season.
