3-year-old pulled from water dies at hospital

The 3-year-old Fort Wayne boy found underwater Sunday in Bowman Lake at Fox Island has died at Lutheran Hospital, the Allen County coroner's office said this afternoon.

An autopsy has will be performed on Hayden Vogan, but it has not yet been scheduled, the coroner's office said in a statement.

The county sheriff's department has said it responded to the county park shortly after noon Sunday, after a swimmer discovered the boy underwater and pulled him to shore.

A civilian performed CPR until medics arrived, the earlier statement said. It was unclear how long he had been underwater.

The incident remains under investigation by the Allen County sheriff's department, the coroner's office and the Department of Natural Resources.
