Girl, 12, recorded in shower; felony voyeurism charge filed

First, he hit the button to record video.

Then, he strategically placed the cellphone in a basket atop the medicine cabinet in the bathroom.

Finally, he left.

The 12-year-old girl he knew noticed the phone – but only after she had gotten out of the shower.

Authorities have identified that man as Sylvester A. Harvey Jr., 34, who was formally charged Friday with felony voyeurism.

Harvey is accused of taking video of the girl in October.

When the girl stepped out of the shower, she noticed the phone and saw that it was recording, court documents said.

When she looked at the video, she saw Harvey placing the phone in the basket as well as her coming out of the shower, according to the documents. The girl quickly deleted the video.

Later, Harvey texted the girl asking whether he had left his phone in her bathroom and that he had a “weird dream that I flushed down the toilet,” court documents said.

When confronted by police, Harvey denied the allegations against him but noted he sleepwalks sometimes, court documents said.
