WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue University trustees are set to decide whether school president Mitch Daniels will get a performance bonus for his first six months in office.
The discussion is expected during a trustees meeting Friday.
Daniels has a base salary of $420,000 and is eligible for up to $126,000 in bonuses.
The performance goals for Daniels haven’t been set. Purdue lawyer Steve Schultz told the Journal & Courier that trustees could consider a recommendation Friday.
Former University Senate chairman Paul Robinson told The Indianapolis Star it’s difficult to justify a bonus for Daniels after he proposed a pay freeze for many staff members.
