The man in the suit and tie and the duo that buys clothes at thrift shops are the leaders at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.

MTV announced Wednesday that Justin Timberlake and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis have six nominations each. Bruno Mars has four nominations.

Timberlake’s “Mirrors,” Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ “Thrift Shop” and Mars’ “Locked Out of Heaven” will battle Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” and Taylor Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble” for video of the year.

The VMAs will air live Aug. 25.

Queen awaits birth

It seems Queen Elizabeth II is getting a bit impatient for the birth of her third great-grandchild.

The queen said Wednesday she hopes the former Kate Middleton gives birth soon.

Asked by a schoolgirl at a public event whether she was hoping for a boy or a girl, the queen said, “I don’t think I mind. I would very much like it to arrive. I’m going on holiday.” The queen is shortly expected to begin her annual summer holiday in Scotland.

The baby is due in mid-July.

Levine engaged

Adam Levine is off the market.

The Maroon 5 singer’s representative confirmed Tuesday he’s engaged to model Behati Prinsloo.

Levine proposed to Prinsloo over the weekend in Los Angeles. The couple started dating last year. The singer’s rep says the 34-year-old Levine and the 24-year-old Prinsloo recently reunited.

High album sales

Jay-Z’s new album has sold more than 500,000 units its first week.

Nielsen SoundScan said late Tuesday preliminary data shows that “Magna Carta Holy Grail” moved about 527,000 copies. It will debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart this week.

The album was officially released on July 7. Samsung bought and gave 1.2 million copies of the album to Galaxy mobile phone users on July 4. Billboard is not counting those sales on its charts.
