Accused molester denies charge

A Fort Wayne man is accused of molesting a 6-year-old girl who he knew.

Allen County Prosecutors formally charged Ricky B. Akins, 45, with one felony count of child molesting Monday.

Akins, of the 6000 block of Meadows Drive, is accused of molesting the girl while she was in her bed sometime between last October and March, according to Allen Superior Court documents.

When interviewed by Fort Wayne Police detectives, Akins denied the allegations.

“I would not do that to no kid,” he said in court documents. “I got kids of my own.”
