Welcome Jenny McCarthy as the next co-host to join “The View.”

The actress and former Playboy playmate was named Monday to join the panel of the ABC weekday talk show. Barbara Walters, who created “The View” in 1997 and has since served as a co-host, made the widely expected announcement on the air.

McCarthy will join “The View” as Joy Behar prepares to leave after being on the show since its premiere.

A remaining vacancy was created last week by Elisabeth Hasselbeck, who exited to join Fox News Channel.

Walters will also be exiting the program next year.

Show for Lohan

When Lindsay Lohan gets out of rehab this summer, Oprah Winfrey will be waiting to talk to her.

Winfrey’s cable channel, OWN, said Friday that Winfrey is getting an exclusive interview with Lohan that will tape and air in August.

OWN says it also plans an eight-part documentary series with Lohan, to air in 2014.

Stranded singer

Dave Matthews may jet to performances around the world, but that doesn’t mean his bicycle never breaks down.

That’s what happened before the singer’s show Saturday in Hershey when one of his fans pulled over to give the stranded cyclist a ride and realized the hitchhiker was none other than Matthews. He didn’t have a cellphone on him.

Emily Kraus tells WHP-TV in Harrisburg that she and her boyfriend helped Matthews stow his bicycle on their bike rack and he got in their car for the rest of the ride.

Kraus says he invited them to dinner, signed their tickets, took them back stage and got them front-row seats.
