Gates re-signs with K's; among 3 defensemen added to roster

Jeremy Gates has re-signed with the Komets for his second pro season, among three defensemen the club announced today it had signed for 2013-14.

Simon Danis-Pepin has been acquired from San Francisco for future considerations, and Nik Pokulok has signed with the club, the Komets said in a statement.

Gates, 25, of Jackson, Mich., had a goal and three assists in 17 games with Fort Wayne last season. He also played in Bloomington of the CHL and in Pensacola of the SPHL.

Danis-Pepin, 25, of Montreal, is entering his fifth pro season. He played in Orlando and San Francisco last year, with three goals, seven assists and 61 penalty minutes in 61 games in San Francisco.

Pokulok, 23, of Vaudreuil, Quebec, is in his first full pro season. He skated six regular-season games and in the playoffs in Stockton last year.
