Giving back

•The local Stamp Out Hunger Letter Carriers’ Food Drive on May 13 collected 723,923 pounds of food that was distributed to 83 food banks and pantries in northeast Indiana.

•Residents and staff at Byron Health Center in Fort Wayne raised more than $1,300 to assist an employee’s breast cancer medical costs.

Innovation in Motion in Angola donated an all-terrain power wheelchair to a Kentucky teenager with a spinal cord injury.

CANI raised more than $23,000 last month during its golf fundraiser. The money will assist in efforts to fight poverty in northeast Indiana.

Award/recognition

Jack Green won a year’s supply of dairy products from Prairie Farms at its Fort Wayne event in June.

Participants sought

•The American Heart Association is seeking 20 women to participate in the “Go Red BetterU Challenge.” The 12-week challenge, which begins Aug. 23, will include wellness screenings, medical consultations and personal trainers and dietitians.
