Mad Antics

  • Several Mad Ants stars to Europe
Everyone knew the Mad Ants roster would look different, even in the wake of the team's first D-League championship.
  • Tryout information
The Mad Ants will hold an open tryout from 2 to 6 p.m. Sept. 14 at the Quest Multisport Complex in Chicago.
  • Howard not sure on return to Mad Ants this season
Howard has had some interest from NBA teams – that's nothing new, though Howard has never made a regular-season roster – and is again fielding offers from teams in Europe.

Mad Ants could grab more affiliations

The Mad Ants, who currently are the minor-league affiliate of Indiana, Detroit, Charlotte and Milwaukee, could pick up one or two more NBA affiliations, confirmed Fort Wayne president Jeff Potter.

The opportunity has arisen, at least in part, because of the Sacramento Kings' new single affiliation with Reno of the D-League.

That leaves the Memphis Grizzlies and Utah Jazz without D-League teams.

The Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers have also gotten single affiliations this offseason with, respectively, Sioux Falls and Delaware.

"There are a few possible situations we are looking at," Potter said.
