  • Purdue schedules football series with Missouri
    Purdue and Missouri will meet in a football clash between the Big Ten and Southeastern Conference. The Boilermakers travel to Columbia, Missouri on Sept. 16, 2017. They host the Tigers on Sept.

    Boilermakers center Robert Kugler was placed on the watch list for the Rimington Trophy, given annually to the nation's top player at that position.

    With nearly 6,000 bleacher seats removed, the south end zone at Ross-Ade Stadium is being turned into a patio area that serves alcohol and food during games, Purdue announced Tuesday.

Purdue to host 4 Big Ten games in 2016, 5 in 2017

Purdue will play four home Big Ten football games during the 2016 season, the first time since 1984 the league will play a nine-game conference season.

The Boilermakers will host Iowa, Penn State, Northwestern and Wisconsint hat season. They will open the conference season on Oct. 1 with their first game ever at Maryland, which joins the conference in 2014. Purdue also will play at Illinois, Nebraska, Minnesota and Indiana that season.

In 2017, Purdue will host Big Ten games against Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Illinois and Indiana. It will play four conference road games, including its first-ever game at Rutgers, which also joins the league next season. The other road games that season are at Wisconsin, Northwestern and Iowa.
