A pastor of a church on the city's south side said he has a plan for helping to solve the violence, and it doesn't involve starting from scratch.
Pastor Michael L. Latham Sr., of Renaissance Baptist Church, said he has been talking with members of the Black Ministerial Alliance in Boston, Mass., about the violence that has plagued Boston in recent months and the steps the alliance is taking to reduce it.
Latham said Tuesday he would like Fort Wayne religious leaders to listen carefully to the group's plan to bring peace to the city.
To get started, Latham will conduct a meeting of women preachers, ministers and evangelists at 6 p.m. Thursday at his church, 5515 S. Hanna St.
