Komets sign 5 forwards for 2013-14 season

The Komets said today they have re-signed five forwards, including team MVP Brandon Marino and longtime Fort Wayne player Lincoln Kaleigh Schrock, for the 2013-14 season.

Forwards Mickey Lang, Matthew Larke and Kyle Bochek also signed with the club, the Komets said in a statement.

Marino, 27, of Riverside, Calif., had 20 goals and 54 assists last season while leading the club in points.This will be his second season in Fort Wayne and fifth as a pro.

Schrock, 28, is also entering his fifth pro year, all with the Komets. He had 10 goals and 10 assists last year, with 168 penalty minutes.

Lang, 26, of Hillsdale, N.J., will be in his third pro season. He led Quad City of the Central Hockey League last year with 41 goals and 42 assists, and had a plus-minus rating of plus-20.

Larke, 26, of Oxford, Mich., will be in his fourth pro season. He had 19 goals and 28 assists for Bloomington in the CHL last season.

Bochek, 25, of Port Severn, Ontario, is entering his fifth pro season. He had 12 goals, 25 assists and 121 penalty minutes for Bloomington last year.

The five additions bring the roster to seven. Forward Matt Firman and defenseman Mathieu Gagnon previously signed with the club.
