IU Varsity Club breaks fundraising record

The Indiana University Varsity Club, which helps athletics scholarships, raised $11.9 million in the 2012-13 fiscal year that ended June 30.

Hoosier donors gave $2.8 million more than the previous fiscal year, an increase of 31.4 percent in donations.

"Breaking this fundraising record for the third straight year is an incredible accomplishment and speaks volumes about the love that Hoosiers have for IU Athletics," IU athletic director Fred Glass said in a statement.

More than 6,500 people donated to the IU Varsity Club during the fiscal year.
