Hey, I used a real camera!

Tour de Fleece, Days 6 and 7

Lara Neel - The Journal Gazette
This came out well, but I don't think I'll do another for a while.

July 4, Day 6

I had the day off for the holiday, so, of course, I crafted!

I finished knitting some swatches that have to stay secret, for now.

Then, I wove a bellydance belt. It has a very long fringe that was kind of tedious. I'm happy with how it came out, but I don't think I'll do another one for a long time.

I used two skeins of SWTC Bamboo, one a multicolor and the other a solid, held double. Colorways and ball bands have been lost to the mists of time.

I wove on a 7.5 reed, for a basketweave effect (doubling a thinner yarn to work on a thicker sett). Woven pretty loosely at about 6 picks per inch.

The fabric is pretty, but time will tell how well it holds up!

I finished spinning the first bobbin my batt and started on the second bobbin. The photo is of the first bobbin, resting on my Kate.

July 5: Day 7

I didn't have time to spin this morning, but I did plan my next weaving project. I'm going to try my first two-color bit of weaving. I'll let you know how it goes!

Tonight, I'll spin for at least 20 minutes, but probably for a lot longer. Fridays are almost always movie-and-a-craft nights, and I don't have any knitting deadlines right now.
