Hunt makes Hornung Award Watch List

Purdue running back Akeem Hunt made the Paul Hornung Award Watch List, which the Louisville Sports Commission released today.

Hunt, a junior, is one of 44 players on the list. The Hornung award is given to the most versatile player in college football. All-purpose yards are the main measure for it.

Three finalists from last season, including USC wide receiver Marqise Lee, are on the watch list. There are five Big Ten players -- Jared Abbrederis of Wisconsin, Ameer Abdullah of Nebraska, Corey Brown of Ohio State, Venric Mark of Northwestern and Hunt -- on the list.

Future Big Ten competitor Maryland has a representative on the list in Stefon Diggs. Texas A&M quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel is also on it.
