In the batt, and even in the pseudo-rolags, this fiber just looks white. Spun up, little pops of darker color are coming out. I love it!
I did take a little time this morning to weigh out about half of the batt - 50 grams - and divide it so that I will, maybe, have an equal amount spun up on two bobbins (or cardboard tubes) for plying.
I have never had it come out, exactly, but this at least helps, so that I don't have so much left over to try to manage in a free-standing plying ball.
Tomorrow, I want to finish knitting a couple of swatches and at least warp my loom, but I will definitely settle in for at least 20 minutes of spinning.
I love that soothing moment when the wheel tension and fiber prep are working well together, and I feel like I'm just watching yarn spring into life, instead of struggling to make it. I had that for 20 minutes today, and I'm very, very happy.
