Frontier Communications Corp. has reorganized its central region to include Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota and Nebraska, the company announced on Monday.

Area President John Lass will oversee the regional operations, which are headquartered in Fort Wayne.

Three years ago, Frontier Communications closed an $8.6 billion deal with Verizon Communications Inc. to acquire its landline phone, Internet and cable business in 14 states, including Indiana.

“John has an incredible wealth of operations and leadership experience,” Dan McCarthy, president and chief operating officer of Frontier, said in a statement. “He successfully manages operations, engages employees and enhances customer, business and community relationships.”

The central region formerly comprised Illinois, Minnesota and Ohio and was headquartered in Burnsville, Minn.
