2 separate deaths are ruled suicides

The Allen County Coroner’s Office has made rulings in two separate deaths this month that were initially unexplained.

In both cases, investigators found that the deceased had committed suicide, the coroner’s office said Friday.

On June 1, a manager at the Relax Inn & Suites at 3527 Coliseum Blvd. W., near Interstate 69, discovered a longtime resident, a 58-year-old man, dead in his room at the extended-stay motel.

On June 20, a freight train conductor spotted a body north of railroad tracks by Burlington Coat Factory, near Hillegas and Illinois roads. The body was identified as a 30-year-old man from Fort Wayne.

The families of both men have been notified, the coroner’s office said.
